A$AP Rocky X Storm The DJ ‘Rock the Boat’ Photo Shoot.

We all know who A$AP Rocky is. But the story is about a talented DJ by the name of Storm. When i first met her a few years ago at a nightclub in hollywood she was just beginning her DJ career. She was looking for someone to mentor her. I must admit I hate running into models that want to be DJs. Most don’t have the talent and do not take the art form seriously. They tend to want to get booked off looks alone. Storm said something to me that I will always remember. “DJing to me is more important than modeling, DJing comes first.” When she told me that I was sold. Storm has true school DJ ethics and sticks to her guns when it comes to keeping her musical integrity. Its no secret that hollywood still has issues when it comes to racial stereo types. Seeing a Black Women behind turntables “NOT CDJS” playing house music in upscale hollywood venues is extremely rare. Im sure more women of color will see what she is doing and continue to reach for the stars.
